Onyeka Oduh

Onyeka Oduh is a non-binary, queer filmmaker living and working in Toronto, Ontario. They are currently a 3rd year student in the Film and Television Production program at Humber College. Their passion for film as a medium comes from 10+ years of making short films independently and/or within a school setting. Their work centers on themes such as gender identity, youth, and race. Onyeka's documentary, Underground + F***ing Loud, just had its North American premiere at the Jerome Indie Film Festival and its European premiere at the Sonic Scene Music Film Festival in Trani, Italy. They have won awards for their work including the Audience Choice award for their documentary Needled at the Just Docs Film Festival in 2010 and the Best Edit + Best Experimental Short awards at the Just Docs Film Festival in 2012. They have also received an honorable mention from MTV for their work on an experimental short about the stigma of mental illness.
