Tristen Sutherland
Tristen Sutherland is a director/ writer whose stories often act as a means of highlighting the humanity of BIPOC members of the LGBTQ+ community. Head writer of the web series “North of Sherbrooke,” their most recent short film “Owen” follows the relationship change between a mother and her trans-son during his coming out. Sutherland was also selected to be a member of the Black Women in Film Canada’s Mentorship cohort in 2019 and their newest script “Halfway Boy” is featured in this year’s Working the Scene in Colour’s reading series. They’re currently in the midst of completing BIPOC TV & Film’s Kid’s TV Bootcamp.
